Well anyways to race...your gonna need...

REQUIRED FOR RACING
A.Nerfbars (AC is a great choice)
B.A killswitch
C. Number plates and stickers( Rear fenders,Front bumper,And rear grab bar)

PERFORMANCE WISE
A.Cam
B.Airtake Mods
C.Flywheel lightening
D.Valves...etc
E.Porting

STABILITY
A.Axle
B.A-arms
C.Shocks
D.Steering Stabilizer

Then after that you can spend money on handlebars, bumpers, shaving fenders etc. to go for the race look..

But why mod a 250EX up for MX?

It going to take a lot of money and work to get that quad a really competitive quad. But for racing there is the safty and then the aftermarket parts. I have to say that the 250ex are an all around great quad but in order to have it racing ready it will take a lot of work and time. I'd say if you want to really race than look into a 300ex or 400ex those are both solid fun race machines. But if you still plan on racing your 250ex get some motor mods, and nerfs are a must in racing along with the bumpers.

Why not a Blaster? A blaster with a pipe, porting, larger carb, reeds, and lightened flywheel can hand stock banshees their a$$es!

Yeah the blaster would be the way to go, you can make them wicked fast with the right mods and it wont cost half as much if you were to mods the 250ex. Blaster stock a fast and with a big bore, pipe, jets, filter you'll be hauling a$$. I would also say some new shocks on the blaster would be the first think i do.

prieber14, if you get MX tires you will hit the rev limiter and go slower. I am trying to find a CDI for mine.
