Default How to keep your hands from blistering?

Ok guys, I need some help here.

I have worked construction for years and I do alot of physical work, and my hands are big and rough and calused, but Every single time I take my predator to the track for more than a couple hours, my hands are blistered bad. Right at the bas of each finger on both hands they blister really bad. I wear a pair of Thor riding gloves, and I don't know what else I can do. When I go riding 2 weekends in a row, my hands really hurt because the blisters barely had time to heal.

I don't know if I crank on the handlebars too hard or what. Maybe I need to let the engine do more work, and I should just ride. I figured since this is the racing forum maybe you guys would have some advice for me.

Thanks!
-Steve

I remember seeing a thin glove liner you can put on under your gloves, it was supposed to prevent blisters, but I can't remember what it was called or who makes it, I saw it in a Dirtwheels mag a while back, maybe do a search on their website, or someone here will know what I was talking about.

You may want to try some better grips. The ODI grips are a softer compound and are really comfortable. Here's a link if you want to check them out.

The only grips that won't give me blisters are Renthal ATV Grips - non-waffle - medium compound.....those things are awesome. Otherwise, riding is about the only thing you can do to get your hands conditioned.......

i use ouri grips, and i wear underwear gloves made by moose that works great. if you can ge a good pair of grips, some underwear gloves along with your riding gloves you wont get anymore blisters. trust me i used to be the same way. just my opinion though

There is a kevlar glove liner that is supposed to prevent blisters. Look in Dennis Kirk,Rockey Mountain or someplace similar.

another thing is if your hands sweat alot, that will cause them while riding. may need to try better vented gloves. and if your hands get wet, stop and change to another pair.

i got the same thing. i use thor riding gloves too. riding hard can do it. pulling up on the bars a lot. i think that most of it is the grips and gloves. i had worn grips and i got new ones and that helped a little. kinda just something you have to deal with if you ride hard but im sure there are ways to help the issue. my hands used to get PRETTY BAD and they do hurt from time to time right at the base like you said. that interesting about hands sweating a lot. how does that encourage blisters tho? i think most people's hands do sweat to a degree when riding.
