When my wife's scrambler 500 was stock,it run an 11.09.Not bad for a stock, heavy as a tank, quad.I think with a little gearing change 10's are possible.I have since installed an AAEN silencer,K&N filter, and changed the jetting. Not sure what it will run now?I would like to add a clutch kit.
I also race a banshee. My best run yet is an 8.37.It also badly needs new clutches and some slicks. The bald banshee tires just don't hook up like I want them to(duh).I think 7's shouldn't be a problem then.

hey, how do you launch, and when do you shift? do you shift at the end of the midrange? my bike pulls real hard in the mid range the seems to start just revving and not pulling as hard on the top end. also do you launch in second gear or first gear? sweet profile page by the way. i think you have met somebody who loves banshees as much as you do. i have put a lot of $ into my bike. i posted this same thred topic on the "sport quads" section and there was a guy who said he ran an 8.5 on a bone stock ds baja. do you think that is possible? give me any tips you can on lowering my e.t. thanks dude!!!!!!!!! when i got my bike ported, the guys at dyno edge said the bike should produce 76-78 h.p. w/ that particular motor work done to it. it just doesn't seem as fast as it should be. they ported it and i had all the confidence in the world in them. the bike runs great but i was expecting an absolute animal. wheelies in third like nothin but instead i have to really give it the yank.

I'm still experimenting with a few things.
Remember this is what I think would work.First, get new pipes when you can afford it.I'm using RDZ(shearer) pipes. They pull really hard from mid-range to top end.I've tried Toomey T-6,T-5,and FMF Fatty pipes. To me the T-5 was the best of the 3.The shearers are my favorite by far. Some bigger carbs should help also.I'm using Keihin 35mm carbs converted to alcohol.Alcohol requires more maintaince,so might try gas first.I'm using a dyna ignition.Shortly after I switched to alcohol and the shearer pipes,I started having clutch problems.Didn't before.I'm hoping to soon get a set of clutches from F.A.S.T. Racing.Hopefully will order them in a few weeks when I can afford it.
With the stock banshee tires,I have to shift early because it revs so fast. Some slicks should help alot.I found a set in jeg's catalog. They are for the jr. dragster. They should work though.I do think the clutches were hurting it alot. Not for sure if it was the tires spinning or the clutches slipping.I'm learning just how important gearing,tires,etc.. are. It's more than just a bad motor.Setting up the bike is VERY important.
