National Classes?
#1
I have an 86 TRX 250r, and am thinking about running the nationals next year on it in the 250c class.
I am also considering getting a 4-stroke and running nationals on it instead. I need to know what classes they have for the 91-350 4-stroke class. I know they have A and B class, do they have PRO or PRO-AM? If so, how competitive are these classes? Are they as competitive as the 250 classes? For example, would it be tougher to win a 250B class or a 91-350 4-stroke B class?
Which will have more riders, on average?
Also, what about the "stock" class. What kinda bikes can you run in this class? What are the rules, just a stock motor or stock EVERYTHING? Can you add like suspension, or even handlebars and a filter? Anything? How competitive is this class and how many bikes run in it? I heard that at Lorretta Lynns 2 years ago only 3 400ex's ran this class is that true?
Thanks

If you are talking about running the GNC nationals next year, there is no stock class. There will be a C class added for next year. There is no 4 stroke 91-350cc at the nationals. Next year there will be a 91-440cc A,B, and C class. All of the classes at the nationals are hard, there is no easy class because of the number of riders that show up for each race. Make sure that you have a vertical number plate in the front and the rear. It will be enforced next year. The new rule book will come out in Jan, but this is some of the changes that will take place for next year. If you have any more questions about the GNC Nationals, ask and I will try and answer them if possible.
I guess you are giving up on your crank seals and going to buy a new 400ex and ride it instead?

Heck no! I am not gettin rid of my R, but I was told that there was a stock class at the nationals, and thought maybe I would get a 400 and ride in that, so that I could go slower and learn the courses a little or something, instead of going ***** out in the C or B class.
Also, I thought that the 400 4-strokes ran with the 250's? I know thats how it is in the dirtbikes and was pretty sure thats how it was for quads as well. Are you sure the 4-stroke class isnt a 350 limit?

Last year if the promoter want to he could add 3 extra classes if they wanted, but not for national points. This year there will not be any extra classes added by a promoter. There will be the 3 extra "C" and the +25 class at all national classes. Yes a 400 can run in the 91-250cc class. The "C" classes were added for the new riders so that they would not have to compete against the better riders in the A and B class riders. Hope that this answers your questions. See you are the races next year and good luck with your R and in racing.
