I challenged a friend to a race, don't care if I lose or win. Here are the machines:

Mine:
07 Outty Max XT with HMF pipe, Dobeck TFI, and Uni Filter. I've beaten easily single rider 800s. When I had no mods I lost to a Raptor 660 with pipe, filter, and jet kit, but just from about 40mph up.

His machine. Banshee, stock engine, jetted, Paul Turner pipes.

I think I'll get a real good jump on him and hold him til about 50mph and then he'll come by me, what do you think? Sounds like a Shee with those basic mods will run about 9.20s in the 1/8. Anyone know what an 800 Can Am will run in the 1/8?

 

Well we raced today. Turned out about like I thought, but took him til 60mph to catch me, we rode it out further too in one race to see top speed of his machine, I hit 73-74mph, he was ahead of me but had stopped pulling so seemed his machines top speed is about the same, maybe 75mph. Check out the vids on youtube. Note my machine has front and rear bags, rear seat, which are full, rear cooler rack and cooler, and I also have the plow bracket underneath still, the silencer in the pipe also. We might race again with that stuff all off mine and his with some minor tweaking.

His machine is supposedly a stock engine, has Uni filters, jetting, PT pipes, not sure what else. He just changed the front sprocket but said it was a stock replacement.

yeah if you woulda been on a renegade you woulda smoked him...i used to have a raptor and i hung right with a new banshee at the time (04), i rode that thing and hated it......no torque

 

Well, you took him off the line pretty good. If he practices his launches it is going to be a much closer race even with all that weight removed from yours. He never really gets on the pipe for at least 30 feet...

 

I kinda had the same results... my Renegade was stock except for the 26XTR's and 12hrs on it and my friend only had FMF pipe from what i can remember. I took him off of the line and he caught me at 50MPH
