first, what kind of racing are you looking for?
there is MX racing at hannegan speedway real close to you.... bellingham area. they race (or did last year) on the same nights as the baja off-road series. for a schedule look at www.hanneganspeedway.com
however the quad class there is not that big, if they let you race, you are in the same class with all other quad riders. race fees are $40/race i think, but it pays out at the end of the season.
if you feel like heading south there are a number of MX events at SIR in kent. they will have one practice day/month of just quads on the track...they call it 'quad fest'. it will seperated into 6 classes, so everybody gets a chance to practice w/ guys of the same skill level & machine caliber for 10 minutes/hour, and if you can handle riding for more than one class in an hour, you can register in multiple classes for an additional fee... i think its $20/class
SIR also has a 16 race series on friday nights, cost is $20... next year they may expand it to have a sperate day from the dirtbikes to race quads, in thier own series i'll... post the dates when i get home tonight.
there are also more races, but i don't recall locations & dates, most was at SIR, but some were other places too. i just recived the flyer last week... i'll post them tonight.

i've heard there are races at both woodburn MX and washougal every other week, but do not have any info on them at this time. (anybody know thier websites????)
other places i've heard rumor of having ATV classes: port angeles, & spokane.
some racers in Richland are trying to work with the horn rapids ORV to get a quad dedicated track built, and possibly start a small series there, they need people to show up at any event that has a quad class there to show our presence is growing, and that a track is a good idea.

will you need new suspenders for the blaster?
if your setup is now in good working condition....not yet. get the required gear,(tether kill switch, helmet, boots, nerfs,... etc.) ride it, & have fun. then, if you want to go faster & higher or are exceeding the capabilities of your current setup... then put money into your machine or go to something that will do what you need.
i can guarantee there are seasoned riders there as well as newbies, with a variety of machines. but don't go expecting to walk away a winner without putting in your time to become a better racer...
i came in dead last at the first race i went to in both heats, so don't go expecting to win... go to have fun, i still had a blast that day.
from what i've been told hannegan is a very fast track. since the quads race the same night as the buggies & trucks, there are no doubles, triples, or even bad whoops. just sm-med jumps, and tabletops... getting more people to race quads there may inspire them to seperate quads into classes... the exposure on that night is greater too, bigger crowds, more people spectating... a good thing for the sport if we can make good imressions.
