Default exaust question

hey I was thinking about buying a new exaust for my 2007 trx450er. the only thing that scares me is a lot of people say if your buy another exaust your valves wil go out of wack, do they really? what about just the slip ons?

I have used yoshimira and FMF pipes. The only thing it will effect is your air/fuel mixture. If you are running efi then it won't be a big problem, carb you might have to change your jets to compensate for more air flow. I adjust my valves every year as part of my maintenance and have noticed no extra wear because of the exhaust. A slip on is a little cheaper so its a budget call.

So would I have to do this? Or do you just recommend it, and is all that stuff hard to do by yourself? And what about a duel exhaust

If you are racing then an exhaust system is the best way to gain quick power. A full system opens up more power then a slip on but it is more expensive. To rejet your carb can be time consuming but is not overly dificult. If you buy a pipe there should recommendations from the manufacturer as to jet size to install.

I won't be racing I just want a better sound and a little more power, and with the jetting do you just have to tweak something or install something completely new?

Get a slip on. You might just be able to adjust the carb it all depends on brand and how extreme you want to get. Wish I could be more specific but not knowing the exhaust exactly then I can only say the instructions will include some carb set up procedures.

If you are doing trail riding the I suggest an FMF q-series for low noise and more power. Otherwise an HMF is a great pipe with many options and they have a good quality.

I'm thinking of getting the HMF racing competition series silencer because it comes with I think 3 different slip ons for different amounts of power and sound and it only costs a little bit more then single slip ons

That one is great, big power and with the 3 inserts you can tune it how you like. Good luck bud!
