Banshee on Moto-X track
#1
I'm wondering how Banshee's on Moto-X tracks. I know the magazines never really like them, and people have told me that 400EX's will out do them but I can't figure out why people like them so much if they're no good in the woods and on moto-x tracks.
Basically I think that with the horsepower advantage a Banshee has it must at least be competitive, at least in the the amature ranks.
Anybody out there with expirence on a Banshee?

I agree with 97, so much of it is the rider. Banshees are popular because they are one of the most thrilling things you can ride. That doesn't mean that they are always the best bike to use when racing agaist the clock, or other riders on the track. You need to be in better shape and have more skill to pilot a Banshee around a MX track as fast a 250R or 400EX. They're just more demanding to ride in these conditions.
As for the magazines, the one thing they don't tollerate is lack of progress. The Banshee hasn't been changed in years and that just doesn't make for exciting articles. That's why they went ape when Honda was first to come out with a new sport bike. It meant bigger sales and more advertising dollars for them. Always follow the money.
