Cannondale at District 5 MX race
#1
Well I haven't seen anyone post about this yet, so here goes. The Cannondale factory team was at the District 5 race at Pleasure Valley Raceway on April 8. The quad was a factory bike that looked a little different than the pictures of the production bikes (different exhaust, etc.) and I assume was ridden by one of the factory test riders (I didn't recognize his name). The track was SUPER sloppy and muddy that day with deep mud in some places. I didn't get to race directly against the Cannondale because I race the two stroke class which went off in the moto before the four stroke class. From what I heard, the Cannondale got the holeshot and never looked back, never spinning and losing traction or bogging in the mud. The guy next to me in the pits (who finished second) was on a Raptor and couldn't hang with the Cannondale. Obviously, the 400EX's didn't have a chance. For the second moto, the track was a little drier. This time, I didn't go back to the pits after my moto and stayed to watch the 4-strokes. Near the end of the first lap, the Cannondale was in 4th or 5th and a considerable distance behind the leader. He never made it around again for the next lap. I'm not sure if he bailed or if there was a mechanical problem or what happened. I should have snooped around the pits a little but I didn't. So, I guess from what I've seen so far, the Cannondale has potential but is still unproven.
