Number Plates on Raptor ?
#1
First time racer here - just wondering what most folks do to attach number plates to the front and rear of a raptor ? Ty-wrapping a flapping number plate to the back of the grab bar seems cheezy. Anybody have any nice professional looking ideas ? Pictures would be great.
Thanks, Eric

Hey i had the same prob. i have a 400ex, i love to race, i feel it is the best thing in the world however, i also love to ride at night. i orderied a vented # plat from nac's $5.00, i don't know if this will work on a raptor but what i did was, i took the plastic tabs that hold the taillight to the rubber tabs and drilled holes in the # plate and drilled a 1.5 inch hole 4 the light to go through. then i just atached everything through the holes, i cabletied the tops to the tabs the decend from the subframe just to keep the # plate at a good angle. anyway the # plate is on there with the tail light on top and it never hits the swingarm, but make sure to apply some duct tape on the holes that your # are on because mud will get in there and cause the #'s to peel. it may sound confusing but it works and looks really good. as 4 the front bumper, it is 2 narrow 2 mount a # plate, so i suggest buying an ac racing mudscreen bumper 4 $64.00 from nac's, they do not come with # plates, and it is the ac racing polished bumper that costs $80.00, that also does not come with a # plate.

I'm not so sure about being "cheesy", but I took the back light off my Banshee, and got a K&K vented plate, and zip tied it around the grab bar, and then to the light brackets. It looks better than all others I've seen, without the AC rear bumper that has a bracket for the plate. Also, since it was on the Banshee, I put the 3rd K&K number plate on the number plate, and it looks really trick. If you're interested, I can take a pic of it and send it your way.

Who cares about "cheesy" as long as they can read your numbers. I zip tied the back, used white sticky stuff and black #'s for the rear fenders and used and old "Keep Out" sign in the front with a white sticker over it and black #'s.
