Some pointers for me.

Well, I found a Track that will let trikes race so... what do I need to do to prepare, this is my first race, and it is going to be weird going against quads, I don't want to make a fool of myself but I am sure I will, any little tricks? I am probably gonna be the only guy runing knobbies during a flat track race, if I race, but they are basically bald anyway. Any info, tips, getting the holeshot cause I'll need it, tricks will be appreciated.

don't sweat it, run what you have, have fun & try to do your best with what you have.
1- it's your first race...
2- the fool is the guy that thinks it can't be done
3- oakwood is great for any first timer... it's were i ran my first race(lost hard, but learned & had fun... same as last time i went)
4- the rough scrambles are not really MX but are definitely not flat either. the track on the 18th had 1 straight, a wide flat sweeper, 4 bumps(about 1.5' tall, well seperated), 3 tight turns, and 1 very short tabletop.... they change it slightly each time, though... (is that by definition a TT? doesn't TT have a hard-pack clay surface they run on?) i'd like to se a whoops section to make it interesting...

The rough scrambles seem kind of easy, I just hope I can make it up there, can't remember when the next race is, I'll have to check out there site. I THINK someone said that Oakwood was an indoor horse arena? That seems like it would be small.

You need to make sure you have enough air pressure in the rear tires to allow them to spin a little for the holeshot. If your wheeler can pull second gear off the line (most all will) start in second. Bring the revs up about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle and hold it there. Hold the brake on and let out the clutch to the point of engagement but not rolling. When the flag or gate drops stay on the gas and s l o w l y roll off the clutch. If you pop a wheelie or the engine stumbles on takeoff you let the clutch out to fast. Keep your wait forward and stay on the gas. Watch out for the quads moving in on your front wheel so you don't endo. Don't ride over your head against quads because you are definitely at a disadvantage without two front wheels. Good luck and have fun.

your right that oakwood is an indoor horse arena, the track is short, the riding arena is about 80-100' by 250-300' i think. every class gets one set of qualifying heats in the first half of about 4 laps. they use this to divide the heats into the mains for each class for the second half. there is no LCQ you just go to the lower designation of main.... the main is about 6 laps.
for example- 2 stroke quad had 4 heats, each consisting of about 6-7 riders(due to size of the arena) the first 1-2 of each heat went to the A main in the second half, next ones the B main, then C, etc... they don't have time to run a full MX type race with multiple qualifiers, LCQ, etc... they have about 50-55 motos each half... plus everybody gets to ride/race more.
i would not be surprised that they try to split the series at oakwood so quads run a different day next year. when i went last year the 2-stroke quad class was only 10-12 riders, nov 18th it was about 24, the same happened in the 4-stroke class. SIR in kent will run a seperate series this next spring/summer on saturday nights for quads & vintage bikes(MX bikes run friday nights)... with every class you can imagine for quads.
