What is bump steer?

Also, the HiperTech CF wheels measure at 1 7/8" from the wheel mounting surface to the outer bead edge.
The Stock Honda 400EX wheels are 2 1/4" and ITP 3/2's measure at 2 3/4" -- all measurements from the wheel mating surface (to the hub) to the outer edge of the bead.
I'd like to get the same measurement for the Douglas 4/1's if anyone can provide it.

Yeah, I forgot about Hipertech's broken ruler. I compared a 10x9 single beadlock to a 10x8 3+5 Douglas and the Hipertech was only a little wider with a little more backspacing. I expected them to be narrower than a welded beadlock since the beadlock adds over 1/2" to the width. I didn't expect them to be narrower than a non-beadlock rim. I did not actually use a ruler, so the Douglas could be wider than rated.
By the time you weld a beadlock on the Douglas 4+1, they are probably pretty close to the Hipertech. I'm not sure if they would clear on anything, but they could make a 5+1 dual beadlock. I check on mine, but it would not clear. If it would have, I could buy dual beadlock rears and swap the back halves with the fronts. On the type of machine I have, we usually bend fronts, not rears. I would also like near stock offset to keep tire scrub down.
If they ever come out with their 12", I would like to see if I can find a 22" tall 12" radials to get grooved for my Drakart. I can't even get wheels with back rings on it without hitting the ball joints. The standard wheels are 10x5 centered Douglas red label. They barely clear the ball joints.
I run the 4+2s on the Hondas, FL350R Odyssey and FL400R Pilot. The factory rims on those are practically 5+0. The lug nuts are the farthest thing out.

Thanks for the info Mark. Do you have a regular 4/1 Red Labels you can do the same measurement with? Also, how much does it add if you measure from the wheel mount surface?
The wheels I measured were non beadlocks (except for the Hipers).
I recently put my Honda wheels on my Cannondale (which has the stock ITP 3/2's). The handling improvement was very noticible. Also much less feedback into the bars. Huge improvement and added a ton of confidence when high speeding thru the trails.
Another VERY interesting point of note. The Cannondale knuckles have 1/2" less distance from the center of the ball joint to the hub/wheel mount surface than Honda 400EX knuckles...
Going to see how much it will take to put Cannondale spindles on my Honda.
