What is the hot setup for a raptor mx rearend. Should I go with a stock length aftermarket swingarm to save weight or go with a plus one inch or a plus two inch? I hope to shave ten plus pounds by getting a round housing swingarm, tapered bearing carrier, and a ti or aluminum axle with matching hubs, sprocket hub, rotor hub. I need the raptor to be mx worthy. I have all ready knocked 28 pounds off of my raptor. Hope to get the extra ten off the rear end plus another ten from lighter wheels and tires. Let me know what you guys think of the swingarm length.

im thinkin im going w/ +1 i htink right now w/ stock swing arm my quad is 88 r length or shorter... because we put or quads sideways in a truck w/ a 86 and the 86 was a few inches wider ..it may be shorter than a 88 actually....im going +1

I dont know much about raptors, but I think it is safe to say that aluminum or titanium axles and mx dont mix.

Is the dominator axle made out of aluminum or ti? I want to put an emphasis on making my raptor lighter and lower. Herbdon, What does your raptor weigh wet or dry? Your raptor is tough looking. I like the gull wing lobo front end and the round housing swingarm. Is a plus two swingarm on a raptor to long for mx?

griff,
not sure what the material is....but i do know this...it's not Ti or aluminum....give jeremy at RPM a call...he is awesome and very helpful....he can answer all your questions...i went with a +2 axel because i wanted the high speed stability and i knew i was going to do major motor work....i love the +2 swingarm....sometimes i wonder about only going +1 on the swingarm...but jeremy told me to go +2.....almost all the guys racing raptors in mx go with a +2....is it the best swingarm for mx...i am not sure....but i am really happy with mine and how it handles.........i am not sure how much my raptor weights...i am going to check into it...i would like to know.......
herbdon out.......
