Well AMA requires you to be 16 w/ parents signature or 18+ w/o. SO AMA events you would have to ride a 90cc quad unless you lie about your age. Some place have non-AMA events with not age requirements. I don't know of any in your area since I don't live out there.

AS for a frame check ebay, cycletrader or even East Coast ATV.

Good point Toomey. My son has been riding since he was 6 and he is now 11. The 300ex and Blaster type quads fit him perfect and he has been racing my Wife's Ozark in the Utility class and doing quite well with it. He has rode my Z400 on numerous riding trips when I have rode my bike and he handles it quite well also just not good enough to move up to the class that it runs in. They need to leave the size of the quad up to the parent.
