Baja1000-Has anyone ever done it?

Hey! I need one, or several, honest assesments of what the Baja1000 desert race is like to compete in. Your points of view would be greatly appreciated. I realize it's a bad time to ask this because this year's event like starts 10 hours from now, but I would like your input as to what this event involves. Factors that would influence my decision to do this event next year include general safety, equipment, logistics, etc..Our entry would be a team of five with two alternates. Everyone on the "team" has at least ten years of riding/racing experience and an excellent mechanical background. Several are veterans and others are a bit younger, and we come from varied disciplines of competitiion. Everyone is level-headed and a tough competitor. Thanks for your honest input and time. bigest thing you'll need is cash. it cost a pertty penney to do it. biggest key is to prerun your sections that you'll be riding. its good to know your enviroment. its an expereance that you'll always remember. i have run a couple of score races in the past. now i just pit for a 10 car. a good pit crew is a good thing. things you'll need: radios for the crew, lots of spares, plenty of food and water. a well preped bike! the list can go on. i'd say get your friends togather and do it! win or lose you'll be glad you did it!
