Gas Gas?

You guys must be new to the forum, because I got mind back on Nov. 11. I got the first one in the US (that's what my dealer told me). For pics check out my gallery and sig. I'm currently in the process of getting it ready for the Gncc season. I've already changed the twist to a thumb throddle. Bolted up 22" xct's on rear and 23' xct's up front all on Carbon Fiber rims (400ex fronts and cannondale rears). I've also added the Lt-Racing power valve cover and jet kit. Gt Thunder made a set of 47" wide arms. He's waiting on parts from LT-Racing on the rear shock linkage before he revalves and resprings the shocks for xc racing at my weight. Other than that just little stuff like steering damper and a steering kit from MotoWest along with some brush guards and this thing will be ready for the season opener in Florida.

nice so is it worth it? I was a little skeptical till I seen one in person. all i can say is wowowow.I was talking to the main importer out of FL and he said there was a dealer close by In Hamburg NJ. They still dont have the 450 in.
are they putting out the same HP as the bikes? or are the motors detuned? The 450 bike motor was rated around 53 hp.

Same as the bikes. The only difference in the Hp to the wheels, since quads take more to turn you loss a little. Mine was rated at 42.7 (300cc 2-stroke). Gt Thunder ran the dyno on it. The 450 bikes put out around 53 so I'd figure around 45 for the quad. My dealer as a 300 in stock and is 2nd and 6th on the list for the 450 4-strokes.
As for if it was worth it. The answer is yep, definity. This thing is awesome. The power is so easy to control. My biggest problem is getting to riding it. I've let others ride it and they don't want to give it back. My cousin 2 weeks ago took it for a ride after riding my cannondale speed for 1/2 hour and refuse to give it back up. His comment was 'this is the best quad he has ever rode. So easy to ride and very smooth suspension and power. The power band is off idle all the way up to the rev limiter (11,000)'.

Lt, how is the bike holding up? keep me posted because i am very interested in buying this bike. I plan on replacing my 250 Qracer after this Mx season is over ,and I've got my choices narrowed down to the Gas-gas , Cannondale , or Z400. I appreciate the pics and let everyone know how the bike holds up? Oh yeah what is the part availability like ,and can you get the bikke in a narrower stance than 52 inches? Gnc width max is 50 same with our association . Thanks again and glad tohear you like your bike.

I'll be posting all my race results thru out the season. I plan on doing around 35 races this year (13 Gncc's and 22 local harescrambles, plus maybe the 12 hour race) all on the GasGas. So I'll know be the end of the season how well it holds up. For now I've have no porblems other that bending up the front bumper from my cousin hit a fence post at about 10-20 mph. This thing is biult like a tank and I can say the same thing for my cannondale.
As for the width right now they are only offering it at the 52" width. I was able to get it to 48 in the rear and 50" up front by changing to 4+1 offset rims and adjusting the a-arms in all the way. Gt-Thunder made me a set of 47' wide a-arms for the machine so now is at 47" up front and 47 1/2" in the rear (by moving the axle spacers to out side of the hub). GasGas is working on a set of 48" wide arms that will be available soon. I'd guess they'll be here when the 450 comes out.
As for parts my dealer said the warehouse that they by their parts from just got their stockment of parts so it should be less than a week on anything that you need.
