Sloping jumps
#11
I work for a farm and they just dug a huge pit to level an old barn. I got lucky and he gave me all of the dirt for free. I have enough dirt to make my own glen helen raceway (almost). making a good track still takes forever because I have to experient with the distances. I've also found that with the dirt I use I need to groom and repair the track a lot but when the dirt is free I don't complain. I think all of the work is definitely worth it!

I have a compact trator a kubota with a front loader and a granig blade what I do to make jumps is put 3 buckets wide of dirt and then jump it and then dump a little and put another layer jump it until I feel that it is the right height. I have a biiiiiiggggggggg tabletop and my 250r jumps it fine and so does my dads qaudzilla but my 300ex and warrior seem to nosedive unless I goose it at the exact moment of mtake off my warrior seems a little worse than my 300ex but my 300ex bottoms more. well remember ride red ride SMART and ride hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

With my warrior I don't have a problem on the smaller jumps. Its on jumps where you have to clear a long distance. I build up the speed I need but at the takeoff when I hit the throttle there isn't anything left. I can usually make a half way descent touch down with some airial maneuvering . I am starting to think its just my machine. I wouldn't mind buildin me one of those yz426 machines like tim far has but 25 grand isn't something I just have laying around ..if ya know what I mean!

my track has 45' long table top that is about 6 or 7 feet high. a 35' foot double that is maybe 3 or 4 feet high. and a couple other jumps about the same height. the track was built with a dozer and we keep it up with a a kubota 4x4 tractor with a front end loader.

trx300ex has no problem clearing them on his 97 300ex, I rode it the other day when he got his new works shocks put on... jumps, slides, and fly's like a pro.. I've seen him clear the 45' table top like nothing.. the doubles are easy, but just wait til I get my 99 fourtrax 400Ex, FMF Pipe, FMF graphics, nerfs, and bumper...I'll show you how to jump mr. honda.. haha
David,
1999 FMF Honda 400EX, FMF pipe, graphics, DG nerfs and bumper, 1998 Polaris Sportsman 500 4x4, 1996 Polaris 300Express, dirt devils on the front, stock on the back.. "To be old and wise, you must first be young and stupid"

I just started construction on my new MX track saturday. Thus far I have built a decent size single jump that I plan to turn into a tabletop instead and a pretty big double. I am now out of dirt, so I am waiting to figure out how to get more!
Has anyone tried burying things to take space instead of dirt? I have a friend who buried a VW bug as a tabletop and another car as a big jump I think he calls a double double, its like going up a jump, then it levels then goes back up. Its kinda weird, basically like having a jump on a hill climb kinda. I was just wondering if anything besides a car or a big cement pipe would work well. Thanks
