Soldier son snow ride 2012, Michigan
#1
My soldier son surprised me by knocking at the back door this week coming home for a leave from Afghanistan. My brothers and I planned a ride for him. We rode a "ORV Route" trail which is also shared by the snowmobilers. The route is about 18 miles long and was very busy with the sleds because of a recent snow.
Once again, I do not recommend riding the sled trails, but this one was legal. The sleds have hundreds of miles of trails in Michigan, this route is the only one around, and is 15 miles long. We had a great time and the sled guys didn't give us trouble.
It is a few weeks later and my son just emailed me that he made it back to his FOB in Afghanistan. He is 15 miles from the Pakistan boarder up in the mountains. He supports the special ops guys with artilery cover. His big gun is featured at the end of the video.

Great video. I could almost feel the cold snow rooster tail hitting me in the face. (Yes, been there and done that) Love the ending with the big gun. Tell your son we said, "Thank you, for your service to this great country."
