There is a place for hitting the throttle going downhill. That wasn't one of them.

 

The better question is, how did he get up to the top in the first place?

 

I've watched this 3 days in a row and still can't figure out what he was thinking. Instead of creeping ahead with the brakes on all the way down he hits the gas. Why? Did he think he would somehow just magically sail over everything and land on flat ground?

 

I'm sure he had some liquid courage in his system.
