I am looking to buy a new atv. I previously owned an badger and it sucked. I am looking for an atv under 5000 dollars. I ride a lot of trails, but dont want a utility atv. Dont know if i want an automatic clutch or manual. Please give me suggestions. Thanks.

Hmmm, how old are you? There are a lot of choices in the sport category. I think for someone looking to get their first true sport quad something like the 300EX might be in order. They are simple enough to operate with Honda reliability, although they have a fully manual transmission. If you just graduated from a Badger though, maybe you should look at Honda's 250EX or Suzuki's Z250. Both of those include semi-automatic clutches and shaft drive for less maintenance. Just my 2 cents.

I am 15, soon to turn 16, I'm 5'7" and weigh 130. I've riden a 300ex and a 250ex. I have no problem operating a manuel clutch. I was looking at a z250, but didnt know how long i would be content with it. I'm considering the lakota, mojave, 250ex, 300ex, and the z250. I am also open to suggestions on getting a used models of the z400 or something along that line. Thanks

If you have no problem with a clutch, I would think about the Warrior too. You can find them used much cheaper than a 300ex. The Warrior has plenty of power, but I'm trying to sell it so I can get a 400ex for motocross (handles better). I was going to get a Z-400 until I did some research and talked to people who own them and saw some pictures of the frame bent in half or the swingarm completely cracked in half.

I'm kinda torn. I want an atv soon, and i have to save up for it. If i get a warrior or 300ex i will have to save for awhile. But if i get a z250, i can get it a lot sooner, but dont know if i will be content with it for a long time. I want my next atv to last me a long time (not the durrability, but the power, size, speed, etc. for what i ride on ). Plus a have a couple questions. whats the advantage of a chain compared to a shaft and vise versa? The same with a clutch and auto clutch.
