my stepdad has been riding db's, threewheelers, and quads all his life. I just got an ex, and he wants something that could at least keep up. Yes, he wants a sport quad he got hooked on mine. Hes a bigger guy, 6'1" and about 230 lbs and want's something big. He thinks, rappys are too tippy, and for some reason didn't really feel to comftorable on the new v-force. You think he should go for a ds650 or what? How cheap do you think he could get one for if this sounds good for him. And he felt comftorable on my ex and really liked it, he may consider getting one too cuz they're so cheap but I think a big bore quad would fit him better. he might do some 20' jumps at the most, thinks hes getting too old even though hes only thirty..7 or so. Mostly trail riding with me and maybe a little racing. he's not looking for an all out racing quad like a moto, 450r, or yfz, and I dont think wants a two stroke. Any suggestions.

i suggest either the polaris predator 500, or the z 400. They are both faster than the ex(z only by a few mph), but are both great sport quads. You can get a z for anywhere around 5 grand, and the predator, around 5600 to 6100.
Both are great quads, and could easily do what you ask of them.

Why don't you think your dad should get a Scrambler?
500cc, cross between a Ute and Sport, not all out race, not full blown ute, 4x4 on demand, sounds perfect and like a pretty good ride to me. Im seriously considering one for myself. Anyone know if this is a worthy machine?

take a look at the z400, alot like the 400 ex except with new technology. i ride with a guy who has a 400ex and they are really close as far as performance, everytime we race in reverse i smoke him though
as far as the scrambler goes, it seems like it would be a good quad, and i have heard and read alot of good about them. heavy bike, and they are pretty expensive considering the other options you have when you spend that amount of loot. jmo. i have also seen my share of them getting pulled out of mud holes that i made it through on my 2001 stock yamaha warrior. rider skill had to be the difference. good luck making the choice but i think as long as he just gets him one he will be happy.
