Illegal ATV Dealer?
#1
I ran across the following site a few days back ( http://www.online-atv.com ) and needless to say, it raised a few questions with me. First, selling ATVs online is illegal as far as I know. In addition they are requesting payment via Western Union money transfer (the choice of every con artist in the world). And lastly... checkout the prices on the quads...
Has anyone else run across this? I've tried to contact all the major manufacturers about this, but I am waiting on responses.

Update: WOW. I looked up the domain registration info on the account. I then thought I would give the phone number a ring and see who answers. Sure enough the number was real. I talked to an Edward who was just as shocked as I was when I first saw the site. After a 15 minute conversation I found out that his credit card and email address were stolen off of eBay and used by a man in Romania to sell items with his info. He contact the Justice Department to investigate and was told that everything was taken care of. As you can see it's definitely not taken care of. He will be contacting the Justice Department with the new info and having Yahoo pull the site as soon as he can.
Just another reason why eBay sucks!

by "geo.premiumservices.yahoo.com".... and the prices are unbelievable

What BeerSmurf says is worth repeating:
There are no ATV's. None. Not one.
You could never, ever buy these ATV's because they do not exist.
You may think that they live in Germany, or Italy...And they may, but probably not.
Nothing in their story is true.
So if you're looking to buy their new ATV for $3,000 and you ONLY send them $500 until you get more proof - Guess what! You just lost $500 .
Did I mention that these ATV's do not exist?
They don't care if you figure out their scam and pretend to be interested in buying their ATV, all their resopnses are the same canned scripted responses - that's what will give them the highest success for the least amount of effort.
It does help to spread the word, one word of warning can save someone from falling for this.
Jaybee (Who is quite sure that none of these ATV's exist)

THey are scamming people on EBAY in a big way, see my post "Beware of ATV frauds on EBAY"
I contacted three of them. They all wanted the money sent up front by Western Union. Trouble is,
Western Union won't let you send that much in one day unless you have a huge account and
history with them. Prices are too good to be true because they AREN'T.
Warn everyone you know.
Follow up: I emailed all three back saying this sounded like a scam, and this morning all three Ebay
ads have been pulled.
BEWARE!
