I found a place in New York That advertises a Z400 for 4950. When i called they told me the only other charges are freight and they vary between 50-150. Has anyone delat with this dealer? They also have the YZF450 for 5950.

That sounds too good to be true. And in my experience, if it seems too good to be true.. IT IS.

Two thoughts come to mind here:

1) Have them FAX you and OUT THE DOOR PRICE. This gives you proof in case they try to screw you with fees.

2) This is probably a NON-United States machine. You can get bikes a lot cheaper in Canada apparently, but I have heard that they aren't as good... But that could just be hype, I don't really know. Ask them if the writing on the decals is in french or english.

Keep us posted!

You think $1000 under MSRP isn't too good to be true? If these are legit, out the door prices, I'd jump on it!

Thnigs in Canada are cheaper ! Its a fact. For example. They have a 01 400ex at a dealership over their. They want $3995 canadian. In US money its around $3000. But you have to pay duties on it if you bring it back over the boarder. But some times you can get a away with out payin them( veary rare ) but has happend.

Columbia county is a little west of Albany.

There is a standard disclaimer in all the xtreme ads - prices do not include freight charges to the dealer, dealer prep and set-up. Also do not include tax and reg. fees. The basic prices are still good, but I've seen dealers go both ways with pricing - Offer a low, low base price, but tack on extra fees that bring the total price right back up to MSRP. Others only discount a couple of hundred, but do not add in any dealer prep or delivery. Whenever I have directly compared the two, the simple approach is usually the best deal - go for a dealer with no BS, the one who is willing to talk OTD pricing right up front.

here is a little speculation:

I have a mag called Wisconsin AUTO & RV

I took the prices from this mag and compared them to the prices at www.extremepowersports.com in the 'Discounted Prices' section.

Yamaha Atvs:

2004 YFZ450

WI mag: $5,695
Extreme Power Sports: $5,950

2004 YFM660 Grizzly

WI mag: $5,795
Extreme Power Sports: $6,175

2004 YFM450 Kodiak

WI mag: $4,895
Etreme Power Sports: $5,175

Suzuki Atvs:

2004 LTZ400

WI mag: $4,395
Extreme power sports: $4,949

2004 LT-Z250

WI mag: $2,995
Extreme Power Sports: $3,375

Those are a few examples of the prices in a mag, and the prices online... So actually the prices online are more than prices in this mag. I have called a few of the dealerships in the mag thinking they were too good to be true, turns out they are legit and the prices they advertise really are their prices.. only thing you have to watch out for is additional prices for fees, taxes, and other things they will try to squeeze out of you. If anybody wants phone numbers, or any other info, shoot me a PM.

hope this helps.
