i don't know where to find cheep good condition atv's? i need some advice!!!!

you could try to buy a frame and piece it together and mabey youll spend a little more Who knows it may work heck thats how i built mine

 

Every once in a while a used Blaster will pop up in my local paper for around a grand...that would prob be your best chocie

 

raptor660rle2003 is right. A Blaster is going to be about it unless you run aross a sure enough deal....or someone needing money badly.

If you save just a bit more you can find Warriors and 300EXs in the $1500 range. Just don't expect one in excellent shape for that price.

I saw an early 90's Blaster for $1000, but it needed tires, plastic, and was pretty beat up, bent handlebars, etc. I think if you're looking for something in good shape, you'll have to go to 1500 - 2000. Then you'll get a late model (1999 - 2001) blaster, trail blazer, bayou 220, beartracker or the like. If you go back to early to mid 90's, you may find a Warrior. Any 4X4 is pretty much minimum 3000 regardless of condition unless totally trashed.

Good luck ... I just went trough this ... ended up spending 1900 on an 01 Beartracker that looked like it was never ridden. Try to go up to this price range and you'll get something good, and also be able to dump it without a loss when you move up. Anything in the 1000 range will almost definitely cost you another 200 - 300 maybe more to make right. Remember, 4 tires is about 200, brakes are about 50, plastic is about 100-200 for the front OR rear. You can quickly get up to 1500 on that 1000 machine, and you still have a machine thats older and worth 1000. The first thing people ask is how is the plastic. If it's torn, ripped, missing, etc, people tend not to be interested or they subtract 300. Even though it get's scratched up, it seems to be the first thing people ask. So if you decide to live with it when you buy it, remember what people will be asking you when you sell it.

Look for a polaris (poor-o-larris), most of them after just a few years will drop in price. They don't hold their value at all, just look at cycle trader. Oh, I am sorry, you said a good one......then stay away from old unreliable poor-o-larris.
