Bombardier Outlander 400 vs Honda Rancher At
#1
I'm looking to buy a new atv. Anyone have advice on which is better, the Bombardier Outlander 400 or the Honda Rancher At. I've narrowed it down to those two, but am having problems deciding--any advice? I like the Bombardier's liquid-cooled motor and disc brakes, while the Honda has Hondamatic transmission (gears) and the electric shift. Anyone have any problems with either of these models of ATV's? I'm looking for a comparison of the two?

Both good Atv's.
I had to make exact same choice. I went with the Honda. I researched them both to death, bottom line is there is no wrong choice.
I rode my Honda for the first time this weekend...in the snow. I don't know about others, but I only got stuck when I did really stupid things, on purpose of course. I rode up snow banks and along sled trails. I think it's a great machine, but...I'm not into speed. I am into climbing steep trails and taking long trips (fuel economy is a factor for me)
I almost bought the Eiger as well. Except the Day I went into the Dealership I spoke with Eiger owner with a bent frame. He wheeled up onto a rock and came down hard.
So, more advise. Crawl underneath all the bikes and LOOK. The frame, skid plates, CV's etc. Bring a tape measure !
I am kind of a freak that way though.
Lastly, if fuel and size didn't matter to me?, I would get a big bore because they really put a smile on your face.
Hope this helps.

PS (I am into wheelies !)

It depends on what you are going to use the machines for. I too was thinking about both of these before I bought my Cat. They are both awesome, however be very careful with the racks on the Outlander, they are a bad joke. The Honda is great for reliability, but lacks a good suspension. But then again, what ATV is perfect???? So make sure you get one that fits your needs.
