Fair Trade in?
I have a 2003 Polaris Sportsman 600 with 17 hours on it. I bought it new in November of 2003. I have decided I want to move to a sport quad. My choices are kfx400/z400 or Raptor. I figured an even swap would be within reason, if not even maybe 300-500 cash on top. I paid 6500 for my Sportsman 3 months ago, checked NADA and they are listing average retail at 5680. At that number I figured I could pick up one of the listed sport quads. Have I lost my mind, or maybe just havent found the right deal yet. I would try and sell it out right but I have never really had success with that. The 4 wheeler is brand new I thought loosing $1000 was insane but I guess these things depreciate quick!

600,
I would think realistically the bike is worth 4000 to a dealer. I know that's not what you wanted to hear, but I'm afraid you'll hear it a lot. Even if they offer you 4500, it will be against list price for the new one, which again translates to 4K for yours. It's real tough to sell these privately that new as well, because you can't offer 2.9 financing and free winches and warranties. I would suggest you keep it, enjoy it, and maybe let people know you're selling. That way if something comes up, fine, otherwise you're stilll riding a great bike. If you financed it with 0 down like so many people do, it's even worse. You'll be upside down for 3 years at least. If you really need to dump it PM me. I can't give you 5680, but it won't be 4K either, and it will be cash immediately. If it's financed, you're keeping it, because who in their right mind would lose the bike AND pay a couple grand to get out of it. I really suggest just plain enjoying it.
Good luck, and always ...

The bike is paid for, I know I am going to loose a lot. I guess my best bet would be to sell it out right. The 600 even for a utility is an awesome bike, its fast too. I just want something smaller, I want to shift again, and I ride on some pretty tight trails. I really want the Raptor though. When I cant go out and ride I have about 35 acres of field to ride in and I know I will have more fun on that quad than what I have.
Kintama, how much to transport these bikes to each other? I may be up for that. I have seen advertisements for 350 coast to coast.
