My oldest son will be ten in a couple of weeks and I'd like to buy him a bigger atv. Right now he and my other two kids are riding our two Honda 90's. They oldest is getting to tall to ride the 90 much longer so I'd to move him up. After looking at all the manufacture websites I see that my choices are limited when it comes to chosing a step up from the 90. The way I see it my choices are: Kawasaki 200 Bayou, Suzuki LT160, Honda 250 Recon and Polaris 250 Trailblazer. I would to keep him with an autoclutch setup. All of our riding will be trails, edge of fields and backyard. Anyone have a suggestion? Right now I'm leaning towards the Suzuki as it's a little bigger but not too big. Safety is a main concern.

Remember to first check on your states laws about kids driving what machines. My state has specific laws in this area. I suggest you check that out.

The Polaris Trail Blazer doesn't have an auto clutch, its fully automatic. I'm not impressed with either Kawasaki or Suzuki, but the Honda Recon is a really nice machine.

Having owned a Recon myself I can tell you they are a great machine. Fun and easy to drive and handle, I don't think you could go wrong with this choice.

Honda Recon!!! Easy, SAFE, low center of gravity (something Polaris don't have in any model )Fast enough, great trail quad, very, very agile! Low maintanence, it will tear up any 250 class quad in it's class!!!

Get the Recon. I have one and I let my nine year old newphew ride it. He has the honda 125, what a difference! He was in heaven... or so he says!
They are not to big and not too fast, and I felt very secure letting him ride it.

I dono about the Trail Blazer for a 10 or 11 year old. They are big and kinda hard to move around. If he was about to turn like 13 or 14 I would strongly suguest it for him, but not if he is just turning 10. I'd say maybe get the Suzuki LT160 in the yellow color or the awesomest one of what you mentioned, the RECON! Oh and for who said that the recon could beat anything in its class for the 250 is wrong. I have a 99' Trail Blazer and my friend has a Recon and I kill him in in long flat drag race, easy. Welp, Later dudes, Kenny

The Recon will do you right, plus it will have good resale value. We own one & no problems not one.
