Default can't find a atv that suits my needs!

Hey everybody, just wandering if anyone had a sugguestion I'm looking to buy an atv that pretty much does it all! I do some trail riding, exploring and occonaly run in to some really hairy trails. On the other hand, I want something that is pretty quick for desert riding.
I been riding motorcycles/atv's since I was a kid so I'm not scared of a cluch, I want a sporty atv that is trail capable.
I have about $3500 to spend and it must have reverse
currently I ride (barrow) a honda recon

thank you for any sugguestions!

Wow, thats kind of a tough one. Wolverine comes to mind. Kind of like a warrior with 4wd. Should be able to find a used one around that price.

How sporty do you want it, and how fast is fast for you?

Too much horse power/speed can never hapen! If a race quad could climb rocks I'd be very happy. The Wolverine you mentioned sounds interesting! never seen one before.

i'm not sure if you like autos, but the scrambler 500 4x4 is pretty sporty for a 4wd. it goes around 60-65 stock... I am sure you can find one for 3500...

its way better then the 350cc air cooled Wolverine IMO...

how well do scramblers climb? I was told that polaris atvs need to matain speed while climbing, or going through mud, loose rocks , or excessive belt wear will result. is that true? also, I'm not that impressed with polaris, just seem too bulky and heavy to me

If you doun't like scramblers, I would say a 400ex maybe? Great trail and dune machine. No reverse thow, but who needs it!!

no dunes here just desert & high altitude mountains, and they don't call them rocky mountains for nothing! I don't know how many times I was abuptly stoped by a clif, with no way to go but backward! reverse is very handy, if a 400ex had reverse i'd already own one. 300ex's two handed reverse precedure is unexcptible. I want a atv that can climb a pole and still be fast and handle well

How about a Z400? Might be hard to find for $3500 though...
