I'm in the market for my first atv. Problem is I don't know what to buy. I'm looking for a 2wd w/ reverse and electric start, that won't get hot on me while I'm putting around in the woods. I also want a little pep for the dunes. Price range is aroung $5000. What do you guys think?

You want a Utility quad or a racing/sport type? Utility I'd recomend an Outlander 400HO, Suzuki Eiger or Yamaha Bruin or Kodiak 400.

If you plan to do any mudding, get a 4 wheel drive. Don't worry so much about brand, but who will give you the best service when you need it. Test ride as many as you can, then you can make a wise choice that best suits you! Welcome to the great sport of atv'n! Happy trails!

400ex or Z400. I know someone that bought a new Raptor for about $5000.00.

Your Z doesn't get hot at all at low speeds? That is my main concern.

Get a warrior... it is air cooled, but I have not had any problems with mine in over 6 years. Handles decent, has reverse, won't embarrass you and you can always pass it down to a friend when you win the lotto and buy that screamer....
