Hey everyone. I cant make up my mind about what i would want more, a dirt bike or ATV. Ive driven many ATV's before and i really like them, but i have a friend whos dad used to do dirt bike motocross and now they are riding dirt bikes alot. His dad offered to help me learn about dirt bikes than i was going to get one to ride with them. The problem is that i dont know if a dirt bike will be able to handle the trails and stuff that i go through alot with atv's. Any suggtestions on what is a better thing to get. thanx.

In the dry, a dirt bike can pretty much go anywhere an ATV can go.. but when it gets slick or muddy, you have to park the bike just when the real fun starts on the ATV. It will only take one time doing a muddy high speed power slide on an ATV and you will never go back to the bike...

I would go with a really fast quad if you're going to be trying to keep up with dirt bikes.
For me i don't like riding a quad with bikes. on the trails you spank the bike bad. but if you're doing ditches or jumping a bike is just going to dominate.

but out of the two get a fast quad like a YZF450 and you'll do pretty well all the way around.

 

i have both and enjoy the atv a-lot more
