Default Reliability ??

I am looking at buying a new 4 wheeler, and am thinking about the Polaris sportsman 700 Efi.
I was just wondering what everyone felt was the most reliable machine out there. Or do they
all have there problems.....................Thanks for the help.

ALL of them have there flaws. The industry is so competitive no one can really afford to put out something bad. The Sportsman is a very nice machine.
Like everything, there is always a lemon in the bunch somewhere

For the most part, any new machine will be much better than anything made 5 years ago. The manufacturers have come along way, making better more reliable quads.
You can get a sense of what brands are more reliable than the others, by looking thru the forums and seeing how many posts are about problems and what those problems are.
Do some research on the different 4 wd systems, because thats where the differences lie. Some wont engage on hard pack, some wont engage going downhill, under engine braking, some have diffentials, and some are spooled. Some have full locking, some are on command and some only work when the engineers figured they should. Once you figure out how the different systems work, youll be able to decide which you want.

Nowdays, all of the new quads are very reliable. A lot has to do with how you treat it and the maintainance that you do. I personally take care of mine very well and probably do more maintainance than is required, but I want it to last a long time. I had a 1982 honda 185s that I bought back in 1998 and then sold it to a friend 2 years ago. It is still running today and doing good.
