Honda TRX 125
#1
I am looking at buying a 85 Honda TRX 125 from my brother in law. The quad will be for my son who is 9 years old and in the future for my little girl who is 5 now. The quad only has about 30 miles on it, and has been stored in a heated garage. This thing looks and runs like new (still has **** on the tires). I own a Arctic Cat 300 4x4 now (great quad), but have owned many Hondas in the past and am well aware of the reliability. I would like to know the good and bad points of the quad, and how much you think it is worth? Kbb says $780 but you really can't go by that. Thanks of your input in advance.

I had an '86 when I was a young pup. Loved that thing. It doesn't have ANY suspension though. We never did anything to ours. It was super reliable and a great quad to start on. That thing Ran & ran & ran & ran.
Oh yeah, Did I tell ya that thing ran & ran & etc.

I had an '86 too, had it for a couple years, I was 14 and sold it in '88 for $800. It was bulletproof, sustained much abuse and never complained. It was by no means fast, with no suspension and pretty low gearing, but had alot of conveniences like auto clutch, electric start, reverse, etc. I have seen them for sale since in the $750 to $1200 range. I outgrew it but it is an excellent machine and will run forever.

yeah i am 15 years old and have a machine almost identical to the honda, the suzuki lt 125.(had to sell my blaster). i have ridden with my friend who had the honda 125 and it was a very reliable bike. had a tendency to break tie rods but then again it wasnt made for motorcross jumps like we used it for. other than that it was flawless and it was an 86' so i say buy it.

Wow, $800.00 thats a deal based on the condition you noted. I would think in
that condition it would be worth around
$1,200.00. I also have one which my
daughter rides. The only thing that I
don't like is the way it shifts. It seems
to be harder to shift/more resistance than
most ATV's I've ridden. I'll be selling
mine shortly and replacing it with either
a Blaster or a 250X.
