Where to start?
#1
I have never owned a quad before, and its been a long time since i have even been on one. I really want a sport quad, but am not sure which one to start with. I am 22, but not really that big, I only weigh 165lbs. I was looking for a banshee, but there are no new ones at any dealers close to me. The dealer here has a brand new blaster, but i am worried that if i buy that, it will become too small for me really quick. They have raptors, a couple 400ex's and the like, so my question is, should i buy a blaster, pay a lot less and have an easier quad to learn on, or should i just buy something that will last me much longer? I will mainly ride with guys that have utility 4x4's and around our land alone so a raptor or 400ex will be plenty fast.
Any suggestions?

I started on the Blaster, but outgrew it real fast (still, they are a kick to ride). I would suggest that you could start on a 400 class bike and just take it easy at first, until you get some experience. Both the Suzuki Z400 and Honda 400EX are great machines.

Start on a 400. Z/kfx/dvx are the better than the 400ex, but the ex is alot cheaper but it doesn't have reverse. The warrior is a good machine too, alot cheaper than the 400.
You would quickly out grow the Blaster, and the banshee might be alittle to much for you to start out with.

Thats basically what i was thinking. I don't really want to spend over 3 grand and have a machine that i will be dissappointed with really fast. Plus by the time i upgrade a blaster down the road to be faster and better handling as my skill grows, i would be just a lot better off spending more money and having to take it easy for a while on a bigger quad.

I would say get a Z400 or kfx400 because the are good quads and they are easy to learn to ride. But also 400ex are good to. I have rode the kfx and 400ex but the kfx seems to have a little more power to it or it seems to me.
