I'm looking for a serious 4x4 ATV that can take anything that is thrown at it. I don't wanna do any work, I just wanna go mud riding and other serious 4x4 things. In my opinion thats what a 4x4 quad is for(meaning its number 1 priority)

If you are scared of a chain, then the Wolverine. If not, then the Scrambler 500 is the hottest ticket available. This is no crap! The Feb. issue of dirtwheels clocked top speeds on a 2000 scrambler with no modifications between 65-68 mph. Now we all know how different magazines and articles vary, but this is dirtwheels latest top speed claim. Something to think about.

If you don`t want any speed, Any other 4x4 300cc and + will do the job. Will you put some bigger aftermarket tires on it? Do you want a big heavy quad or light more maneuvrable quad? Any 4x4 with a locker and mud tires will be unstoppable...

 

you got one choice. The wolverine. I have one and hul so much *** on it. There is proably one that rides as aggresive as i do on it. It can jump, slide(belive it or not), go fast, handle good, and it has plenty of mods. It also can take alot of adbusih. If you mod it some it can be the best 4x4 ever.

The Wolverine would be an excellent choice. It really handles well and is light enough that it can be manuvered easily throught tight woods. It is also a 4stroke shaft drive and should be reliable. I believe that they have a backup starter on them now as well.

Even though I own a Honda, I would suggest a Kodiak. This seems to be the hot baby for this year. I think I would rather the Yammer than one of the 350 Ranchers. The only draw back to the Kodiak is the belt drive, but I think you could waterproof it enough to travel the untraveled trails.

I own a 2000 Kodiak and its is a fun machine, if you are the market for a fun, sport ride then go take a ride on one. As for me I have been in a good amount of water and the belt has not had any problems. I do not go through water real fast so I couldn't tell you if it would slip at a fast pace but everyone that I have talked to has had no belt problems and they ride harder and faster than I do. Me and a friend both bought Kodiaks and have had no trouble at all. I would take a look at one if you haven't made up your mind on what you are going to buy. Good Luck!---- Kyle Kimball---

THE GRIZZ IS THE ONLY BIKE THAT COMES TO MIND. I HAVE FLIPPED MINE DOWN A MOUNTAIN END OVER END 15 TIMES, TOOK IT THROUGH MARENGO SWAMP, AND RIDE IT HARD ALL THE TIME, NEVER MISSES A BEAT. STILL HITS 65 NO PROBLEM.

Its too bad none of the machines listed can compete with the scrambler 500. It is the only bike with the authority, the no-stop attitude, and the I'm faster than you attitude. None of the other quads are even close on suspension either. I have rode most 4x4's and this is just my opinion, but it should be a fact.
