Buying a 50CC for daughter
#2
Been down that path b4 w/ kids and small machines in motorcycles, snowmobiles and 4 wheelers. I ended up buying my 7 year old daughter a Kawasaki Bayou 220. They are a small full size w/ a throttle stop (which we didn't use). The smaller machines get "out-grown" too quickly and kids get bored. The 220 will last her as long as she wants to ride. She has no problem handling it....but all kids are different. The truth be told, I enjoy riding it myself.

One thing is correct, they will out grow the kids quads. However, before purchasing our E-ton, I looked for 2 months trying to find a used machine, no luck. The used machines we did find they wanted within 500 of the new price.
Our E-ton has one problem & thats the rear brakes squeak.
I wouldn't recommend a full size quad for a child because if they lose control or it flip then do you want a 400+ pound machine on top of your child? Most kids quads are in the 200 pound range. The E-ton has a horn, which is actually useful & throttle limiter.
My son was new to ATV's so I wanted something that he was comfortable with.
Honda wanted $2699 for their TRX90 & Yamaha Breeze they wanted $2999. These prices are high, you can get a Kawasaki Bayou 220 for these prices.

The local Arctic Cat dealer here in Boise has just started carrying a line of small ATV's made in China. I don't know the brand, but they are 50 and 90 CC's The 50 is $1999 and the the 90 is $2099. They are automatics with full floorboards and kick starters. They have no lights and come in red blue and yellow. If you would like, I'll get some more info on them and let you know the brand and any other particulars.

My Brother recently bought a kasea blazer 50cc for his 4 yr old son. I must say that the plastics and the "fit" are not perfect, especially the handlebar plastic, but the underlaying frame seems quite solid. The engine seems absolutely flawless. It starts and runs like a dream. Incrediblely quite, you can barely hear it running at idle. It did get quite a beating a few weeks back - our sister's family came home and she has a 9 year old and an 11 year old. They did A LOT of jumping with it, mainly over the driveway (tabletop). It took it all with no complaints. Overall, I feel its a nice machine (safety features, a headlight, electric start and kick start backup) - I am by no means cheerleading for it, but it was considerably cheaper than honda, suzuki - plus it will be outgrown long before longterm reliablity becomes an issue (where honda excels).

I've just been there, I have a 11yr old girl and
and a 9yr old boy and went nuts looking at quads.
I looked at e-ton,aeon,suzuki and yamaha,I woundup
buying 2 yamaha breezes. It has full floorboards,
fully automatic tranny, lights ,and throttle limiter, and electric start, its just the right size and they will get a few years out them.
There's so many kids quads now choosing is tough I would buy one she can grow into and also adjust as, experence level grows and then you'll have a few years to play with before the next step....

What size is that breeze? Doese it have a suspension for riding trails ALL day? I just looked at the Pol's. Great machines as far as suspension! Didn't get to hear run yet. Price is right, too. But looking to get a newer 125 or so machine. The 125 Honda that we have (1985) has all the susp. you can get out of low presure tires! LOL! All the power you could ever want. Would like to get machine with rack so as to teach to be their own pack mule right from the start.
Will be getting one of the new Pol's i think (90cc). But any ideas on 125 with susp. good enough for real life riding? How is that Yammi?
Oh by the way Pol has a 50CC Scrambler coming out too. Good ride! About $2 large.

Hopper, your right on the money as far as size goes, I wouldn't get anything bigger than a 90 for a 6 year old. 50CC should be right. My 9 year old daughter rides a Suzuki 160 and its almost too big for her,I also thought about not wanting her to out grow it too soon, but a 220 for a 7 year old? P.J. your nuts! Just think about it, a 300 lb. four wheeler on top of your 65 lb. daughter.
