In my area, a 4X4 is definatly needed, or youll have no fun unless its summer, and I like to play in the snow.

I want something like the wolverine, but with some more power and selectable 4WD.

I like the wolverine but what sets it back for me is that its only a 350 air single, and i wnat 2wd to play.

I knwo abotu the scamblers, but im not a fan of the looks, engine, tranny or weight of that maching. I definatly want a manual.

I think im trying to find a maching that doesnt exist. I coudl always get teh kit to make the wolverine 2WD.

 

well if you want a sport/ute with selectable 4wd the only choice is the Scrambler 500 4X4 its got TRUE 4wd to...correct me if im wrong its fully suto to and you can buy racks and plows fo rit and stuff.

 

Not really true 4wd but it does try.

You are either stuck with the underpowered wolverine and a warn 424 or with a polaris scrambler. The polaris machines have more power but the trans robs much of it and the weight doesnt help either.

You dont really have much for options. I'd say get a Prairie or tp 700. Maybe not as sporty as either of those two machines, but they have plenty of power and handle very well for 600lb utility atvs

 

or even the Vinson 500( 5spd or the auto) or the King Quad 700 they are sport/utility's to or liek mad dog said the praire 700.

The Wolverine engine does hop up pretty well. Lots of aftermarket stuff available.

Unfortunately, the utilitys show their "farm work tractor" heritage, and even the best of them aren't all that sporty. We had rumors of a new Honda 4X4 that was suposed to be more sport than ute, but will have to wait another year.

 

The wolverine seems like it would work for me, but I wish theyd update it sometime... Its been the way it is for a long time.

Maybe ill just get a 2wd and run paddles?


I dunno, being in maine, theres a lot of mud and snow. And you can stope riding then or theres no time to ride.

 

well the raptor 660Rs are really torquey with a lot of power you can ask OneFlyCowboy or just look at his pictures

I just realized what turned me off of the wolverine a long time ago. Its a auto clutch...

Im not really a big fan of them, when buying a quad, I want either full auto or full manual.

This sucks.

 

the scrambler is a great ATV. the auto may rob some power but believe me, the scrambler FLIES for a 4wd. I run with sp700's and a p650. it takes them both in a 1/4 mile drag. As for the offroading ability, ill admit i havent had snow yet so i can make any claims, but otherwise it goes anywhere. havent gotten stuck yet where the utility's make it through. dont let the weight and auto decieve you, the scrambler is a very fun machine to drive. i looked at a wolvy when i got the scrambler, and it just didnt seem big enough. i rode one afterwards and the power isnt comparable at all. scrammy has ALOT more.
