well me n my dad are looking into buying 2 new quads by the end of this year and he wants to stick with honda for the reliability issues.lol.my dad wants the 04 Foreman S and i want the 04 400ex and are looking into spending about $6,500 no more than 7g's cause my dad needs a new vehicle (prolly truck).when we went to the dealers he said an 04 foreman S is $5,799 as low as he can go supositly and im like thats expensive for an 04 foreman S. the price on the tag said $5,999 even. so my dad said that i prolly couldnt get my 400ex tahn BUT i was thinkin wait until the 05s come in and go back and offer him $6,000 cold hard cash right then and there in my dads hand in the office for the 04 Foreman S and the 04 400ex. so my question is Do you think this could happen?

You need a new dealer... Mine sold me a new 04 Rubicon for $1200 under MSRP out the door, plus the 250 in riding accessories. well under your dealer's price for a cheaper machine. You have to understand that Fall is UTILITY hot season... Spring is for Sport models....Last year, Honda had a glut on Rubicons.

There is no way to make that deal. If your are very very good and you find a dealer with a bunch of 04 400ex left over because the 05 has reverse you might be able to swing a deal for 4500 otd. That leaves 2500 for the foreman. Looks like you'll need to get a paper route if you want a new quad.
You could pick up a couple of Honda Recons or Yamaha Bruin 250s or a couple of Kawasaki Bayous. The only sport quad you could purcahse new along with your dads quad would be something in the 250 class of quads.

Does it have to be new? You could swing a pair of great rides for $6k if you look for 2 or 3 year old models.

It doesn't look good. You'd be lucky to get a 450S and 400ex for $10300. OTD.
Your dad better just wait for the 2005 models and buy a Foreman 500 (475cc). Then he can spend most of the money on himself and maybe buy a helmet and goggles.
The retail price of a 2004 450S is $5799. $5999 includes extra fees. Your father should be able to buy a 450S for at least $5700. OTD. That would only leave $800. (from 6500) for your quad. He might be able to get a better deal for a 450S. It depends on peoples response to it being the 450's last year.
Maybe you could buy an older Mojave or something after he buys his quad. It's better than nothing.

Go online to cycletrader.com and see if there is any decent used stuff in your area. You can usually pick up a used three wheeler or an older bike for not too much, and hey at least you'll be riding instead of just watching. Then next year save a little more and trade your used bike off and keep working your way up the ladder. I did that when I was 12 and bought a beat up 110ATC. Ran the tires off it, which was kinda hard considering the awesome power they had
