I sold my Lakota in April. I was a good machine. I also have a friend that has a 300ex. I have rode both. If you need racks go with a 2000 Lakota. The 2001 does not come stock with racks. If you like a manual clutch go with the 300ex. It also jumps a little better. The Lakota has a auto clutch. If you don't like keeping up a chain and you want a auto clutch try looking at a Honda Recon. It has racks and is tough as nails. It also is a torque monster. Check my page for I have a club member with one for sale. Good luck!!!

I had a 96 Lakota that I bought new. Ran the crap out of it with no problems other than broke a chain once. It will accellerate & run top speed with a 300EX, although a good rider on the EX may pull you a little out of the hole, cause of the manual clutch & a little less weight. They both handle great on the trails, but the Lakota doesn't come standard with a hitch. If you get one, let me know as I may have a hitch lying around for the Lakota. TEFye@AOL.com

I was fortunate when I was atv shopping........I wanted a sport machine for myself, but I wanted to get a utility machine for trail blazing and so on.........so, what I did was buy 2 machines............I did this by convincing the wife that one was for her
I like the Lakota for trail blazing, but I love the 400EX when my neighbors get their bikes out
