I am looking for the good and bad about these 2 machines. I will be getting one of these soon. the 450s is a 1998 and the sp335 is a 99. I can ger either one for about $4500. Is this a good price?

The SP335 is not as good as its big brother. The power to weight ration just isn't there. This quad is heavy. The Honda 450 is much better than the SP335.

For pricing check out kbb.com.

The Honda is at least $200 too high. It would have to be cherry with no scratches and less than 1000 miles.

I have never used the KBB site that Snowshark mentioned so I checked it out. The 450s has a retail price of $5245 retail, (high) and a trade-in value of $3915 (pretty low) If you
average those you come up with $4580 which sounds quite reasonable for a decent 450s in good shape. The 335 shows up at $4785 retail (also High) and
and trade in of $3295 (low). So if you average those figures I come up with $4040. So if those figures mean anything the 450 is a better deal. It really boils down to what you want and expect out of the quad. My own experience would make it an easy decision for me but only you know what
you want.

Either way, if you are riding, you will be happy right?

I agree with snowshark, go with the 450s.
The sp335 may have a smooth ride (independent rear suspension) but it has a 335cc engine in a chassis that was originally designed for a 500cc engine.

I've been out riding with a 335 twice. It was a good machine. Sounded real solid, and it was a smooth runner. But, it was HEAVY. When he drove it out of his F-150, the rear suspension must have raised a good 3 inches! I didn't actually ride it, but there were a couple of spots that he couldn't get through that I did. So I wasn't too impressed with the IRS set up. I would go with the 450. Its lighter and more powerful. Thats my opinion.

I've driven the Sportsman 335 too and its a nice machine. But its been discontinued for 2001, being replaced with a 400cc Sportsman. The 450S Foreman is what I'd go for.

TRAILBOSS,

You are right about the Kelly blue book web site (www.kbb.com) about the dollar amounts seem high. I use this site as a broad guage not the gospel.
