Who makes the best ATV boots?
#1
I just bought a YFZ 450 and was woundering if any of you had any ideas on what the best kind of boot is for an ATV. I purchased a pair of Thor Quadrant boots and I am not really happy about the buy. The boots are so stiff that I can barely shift gears. Maybe someone gan give me some advice?

Usually the more expensive the better on boots(as far as movability)..........I think alpine tech(6?) are about the top of the line, but they are about 450 bucks.......thor makes an atv boot, that is supposed to be better.

I have Alpinestars Tech 8. Once you buy Alpinestars, you'll never buy anything else. They're about $300 and worth every penny.
How long have you had your boots? You may want to give them a little time. Alpinestars start out pretty stiff too, but once you break them in they're great. Maybe your boots aren't broken in yet.

I have Alpine Tech 6's and love them, they are stiff in the beginning. But, once you ride/walk in them, they will start to loosen up. Took about 3 days for mine. Now, I'll where them all day in camp or while out ridingI only paid about $225 for them at a local dealer
A tip I heard to break them in, is to get the inside wet, and ride in them for a day. I haven't tried that, but, I've heard it works. Good Luck

That stiffness is what is going to save our ankle, in a crash! Those boots will loosen up soon enough. In a few years, they will be so loose you will need to replace them.
I have used a variety of boots over the years. I have settled on Alpinestars! I wear Tech 6 for sport bike riding, Tech 4 with ATV sole (easy to hike in!) for rugged mountain riding on the utilities, and Tech 8's for racing. There is also a new Tech 10 coming out.

I tried the Tech 4 with the atv soles. I just couldn't get a comfortable feel no matter how many or what sizes, I tried on. I put the Tech 6's on and fell in love with them. So, I'd suggest possibly trying on as many as you can, just to see which one feels best for you.
