hehe, I bought a Dakota in N. Carolina and paid all taxes to register it. 9 months later I moved to Colorado. When i went to register it, they wanted me to pay new vehicle taxes on it! (We're talking $1600). I told them to go take a flying leap, as I had already paid taxes on it and registered it. all I wanted was to transfer title to Colorado!
it took about 3 months and several letters and visits to higher ups to convince them I did not need to pay new vehicle tax on the dang thing! Finally registered it for the standard fees.
Then got an offer for it that was slightly more than I paid for it new! SOLD!... and bought a Durango.
