What would stop someone near New Hampshire from buying one without sales tax and trailering it home? Has anyone ever done this. I am moving to eastern Ct and was just curious.

what do you mean there not registered?i dont know about conn.but i bought my quad in nh and i live in ma,when i registered it in ma they charged me sales tax..

 

I guess you would have to pay the Tax either way.

Unless your dealer is willing to reassign the MSO for you when you sell it, AND you buy out of state. Otherwise you're toast, since the future owner would have to pay double taxes, and would be a deal breaker at the last minute. And by law, a selling dealer HAS to charge sales tax if sold within the state, on ANY state. Oh, and franchise laws don't allow them to ship new units without owner signing papers in person if advertised on the net. When you have a good relationship with the owner, you have many advantages.

I am going to buy a used one but you still have to pay sales taxes when you register it in the town you live. I don't know if it's the same amount or not. I'm not registering mine because I bought it for my land. If you register something, you're basically giving it to your parents. or big brother. whichever you prefer.
