I've heard nothing but good things about the Pred on the trails. All the extras it comes with is a plus as well. I was going to get one until I bought my Brute Force 650.

if you are going to get a raptor, get one before '03 or after '03. i have heard that the 2003 modles have tranny issues. also, if you are going to get a predetor, get a 2005 model, those are the ones with the best tranny's AND reverse, if that matters to you.

Actually, 2001 models had transmission troubles, and they were fixed in 02 and have been fine in every raptor since then. My 2003 is fine thank you.

Well i read in dirtrider magazine that the pred. is better in the shootout between the raptor. Suspension on the predetor is top notch, fully adjustable!! Better than raptor on trails. Little heavier though. 1st 2nd and third gear lots of power when you hit 4th and up u loose some power. Also for just 500 bucks more you can get the troy lee edition , a nice touch with better graphics and different gear ratios for faster accerleration.

I would go with the pred. They have reverse on them and they handle better.

This is coming from a Raptor Owner.

even if you do loose a little power in 5th,who cares?the raptor still cant pass it.i would much rather have the tld,how offten do you ride in 5th gear on the trails?so why wouldnt you want the quicker machine?
