the honda has- skid plates, white brothers exhaust, douglas rims, holeshot tires and paddles. $3000 obo
the suzuki is stock i think $4000 obo
now im a 15 y/o kid on the verge of getting a car, so i dont have tons of money, i need money for a car/truck too. im extremely into bmx and am looking for an additional hobby because i quit baseball and a quad seemed like the perfect thing for me. my parents are going to but me this quad. ive been riding 4 WHEELERS for around 8 years now, but not any "sport" type quads, more like "mountain quads." i can handle my 350 kawasaki mountian quad really good and i hit 10 ft jumps on it all the time. so, i have some experience. what do u think would be a better quad for my and WHY? my friends say the honda because of the bolt on's, but from reading around on this forum it seems like right after the yfz, the z400 if the next best thing. i cant afford a yfz tho so please dont tell me about how much better it is. also, i will be riding deserts mostly, then dunes peobably 2 weekends in a month, and occasionaly trails in forests. and oppinions with logic behind them would be really appreciated. thank you for reading

well i dont know how you are going to get a 05 z400 for 4000 because new i cost 5800 for it but i would go with the 400ex plus with the 1000 dollars you saved you could put a 440 kit in it

I have a 400EX they are ok but the Suz/Kaw 400 is a better machine in terms of power and handling. Either way you're getting good equipment, but my noney would go on the newer 400.

400 ex is the worst of all the 400's.. by worst i mean slowest, loooks worse, and has air cooled tech.. which is old. Plus it weighs more. Go with the brand new 05 z400.. its a rly nice bike.. mod it like mine and u can stay up with 660's!

im not saying the z is a bad quad but the money he will be saving by buying the 400ex he could put 440 kit and a graphic kit to make it look better and it would out run the z400 but if your not looking for that kind of performance i would get the z400 which you can still get the z to big perf. but i like the honda better

thats nnot true i raced a 440ex with a pro circuit exhaust the other day and beat it every time with my stock kfx hondas are tough machines and are reliable but so is my kfx i am just not inprest with the ex its out dated.... although that 440 was right behind me i am pretty sure he had a higher top speed cause i did drop a tooth on the front sprocket

im not talking about the z400 not having perf. but if he take the 400ex and puts a 440 exhaust , filter, bigger card different sprokets it will beat a stock z400 but i bet ti will be a z400 with a 440 kit only in it that guy might not has been skilled has you .
