I'm stuck in between that 2005 YFZ 450 and the 2005 Troy Lee design Predator
maybe you guys can make my decision easier

This topic has been beat to death, resurrected, and beat back down more times than I can count. There is a lot of good comparison information already availible, some of the threads are even active within the last day or two.

That said, the Pred will make a very good recreation and trail bike while the yfz is easily the better choice for the track and other racing types.

 

For trails you can't beat the suspension on the TLD Predator. If you plan on racing get the YFZ.

Its a tough decision. Both are fast machines that can be made VERY fast with a few aftermarket parts.
The YFZ is the better machine for racing but the Predator has reverse, which is nice to have.
The Predator is $600 cheaper than the YFZ.
The YFZ is lighter than the Predator (by about 40 pounds) and should be faster in stock form.
Ive attended a few ATV racing events in my area and I can tell you that while there isnt a huge speed difference, the YFZ wins more often than not.
