Besides the dealer brochures, you might want to read some of the articles in the "Quad Reviews" section of the ATV Connection home page (www.atvconnection.com).

Being a Polaris snowmobile guy for a long time I just assumed there quads were also built in Roseau, Minn. Please correct me if I'm wrong. As far as the quad motors go I'm not sure if they are US built or not. But they did start building domestic motors for there sleds in 97 or 98.Which by the way are kicking some @**,especially the 500 & 600 class'. Either way, Polaris is an AMERICAN CO.!& the way to go if your concerned with being US built.

"American-made?"
Impossible, in our "global" world.
The majority of the company's stock may be owned by foreigners.
The major components, like the engines and drivetrains, are definitely imported.
Many of the workers in the plant may be "green-card" work permit immigrants; if not, the service companies the company contracts with are populated with special-visa "guest-workers," such as computer programmers and the like.
And the components, like electronic parts, rev limiters, CDI's, etc., may be manufactured and/or assembled outside the USA.
I'm told Chinese nationals, Indonesian citizens (of Chinese etnicity), and even impoverished Buddhist monks and nuns actually contribute to the US Presidential Election Campaign, said contributors sometimes overnighting in the White House's Lincoln Bedroom or Camp David. And why not? No "controlling legal authority" prohibits it (Al Gore/Hillary Clinton). Awaken, labor union members, and all US citizens!

The Polaris engines come from Japan form Fuji Heavy Industries. Honda, as of June, started manufacturing, boring and assembly, of engines in South Carolina. The parts are assembled, welded, painted and distributed within the USA. Do a search under the Honda heading for "Honda Expansion" which I posted several months ago.
No one manufactures anything from the ground up within the USA, as far as ATVs, at the moment. But, having said that, I don't care where it comes from. I don't want it made buy a guy hungover on Monday morning or watching the clock on Friday afternoon.
