I have an idea... why don't you just buy a unicycle with a big 27" Mudlite tire on it? I'll be that thing only weighs 20 pounds.
im pretty sure it would weigh more then 20 pounds. but thats a good idea. then he could join the shrinners. those hats are pretty funny looking.

Default I need some advice...

If I end up getting a ute, it will definitely be a 500. Are there any 500 class utes other than the Suzuki Vinson and Arctic Cat 500? Which is best?

I'm hesitant to get a ute, though. One reason is the heavy steering. How would a ute's (500cc) steering compare to that of the Wolverine? One more is power. Would a 500cc ute have a lot more power than the Wolverine?

Thanks again.

Polaris has a Sportsman with a 500 cc engine. It's a strong 500. Suzuki's Vinson has a strong 500 cc motor too. Another option would be the Honda Foreman (including the Rubicon). They steer very nice and easy.

I'm not sure how they compare to the steering of a Wolverine because I've never ridden one but they're probably just as speedy. The engines in the utes are stronger but the lighter weight of the Wolverine would make it a tight race. I'm sure the Wolverine can out handle any ute fairly easy.

The Wolverine IS basically just a utility with no racks. The handling will be beter than one of those beast 4x4s but it wont' be much better. The simple fact is that it is going to suck compared to just about any sport quad.

I don't think a 500 cc ute is going to have much more power than a Wolvy. And if it does the Wolvy will make up for it in speed because of the lighter weight.

JDQuadRider-How about listing the quads that you own........if you actually do own a quad?????????? My guess is that you are a kid who doesn't even have one.

Nope, she's your sister. Seriously though, I updated my profile so you can see what I own.

I'm quite happy with the Grizz. It's not the most technologically advanced quad on the market but it does everything well. When we take a trip to go riding, we usually end up at Harlan KY in Black Mountain park. Yes, there are mountains there and there are nasty hill climbs and descents. A lot of the trails contain large broken rocks with a nice layer of mud. The Grizz handles it just fine and I never feel like I'm on a "heavy deathtrap".

Two of my buddies ride the Griz. I think it is a little to narrow for my taste. Good choice on the wheels and tires, because it widens the machine a few inches.

You can see part of JD's grizz and his back (he's in the white shirt w/ blue sleeves) in picture 9 on my page. I wouldn't put up a picture of his face, it would scare small children.
