Rubicon, Grizzly, or King 700 WHAT TO BUY???
#1
I've been out of the ATV market for some time since my last new quad was a early 90's 250R. I'm looking at the Grizzly 400 and 660, Foreman Rubicon and the Suzuki 700 king Quad. The Griz 400 and Rubicon are close to each other in brice and features but the King 700 seems to be a better value compared to the Grizz 660. I'm a big guy, about 275lbs and will be riding decent sized hills, old logging trails, and using it for hunting. I would like to have a little pep if I need it and don't want to be worried about power when needed to pull a long hill. I also don't want to have to fly around like my old racer but want to have some spped there in the flat smoother starights. I've been trying to compare pros and cons of each but all this new stuff is starting to make my head spin. What I'm most concerned about is something that is prone for problems. I really don't want something thats going to kill me with regular repairs. i haven't been able to find out much as far as common problems on these models. I've found the 400 for $5700 and the rubicon for $6100. the 660 is $6800 while the bargin seems to be the 700 @ $6300. I need as much input and help as I can get. I don't want to buy too much quad and I don't want to be disappointed with not enough power. This seems like a great place for info and I'm open for any and all feedback. I'm buying in a few days so please post away.

This has the potential to turn into a brand loyalty, Ford vs Chevy debate but here's my 2 cents. I'm 5'11", 217 pounds and have been more than happy with my 07 660 Grizzly. It has more power than I will ever need and it isn't even broke in yet. I shopped both the 700 King Quad and the 660 Grizz. The 660 came across to me as a more refined bike with better fit and finish than the KQ. The 660 engine is a true 660cc unlike others that get a little generous with names versus real engine size. The KQ is only 5cc off but there are other that are worse, and yes Yamaha is one with the 700 Grizzly (686cc). I like the controls on the Grizz more than the KQ also, they are a little more user friendly for me.
But all in all they are both excellent bikes, or else they would not sell. You could not go wrong with either one you pick. If need be just flip a coin and don't look back. It comes down to which one you like better after a test ride. Mine happened to be the 660 Grizz.

Mr. Right to Keep, ur in Pennsylvania, why not travel to a dealer in State College, PA, this dealer sells new Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki under one roof, he beats everybodys price at least $1000 off, he sells 800 atv's a month, he's now selling the 07 Suzuki King Quad 700 for $6299, the 07 Honda TRX680 Rincon for $6599, and the 07 Yamaha 450 Grizzly for $5299, he gives test rides and he only charges $195 shipping and prep charge, he has a web site with all the prices listed, if you go there I suggest you leave early and be there before they open cause there may not be a place to park and you might have to wait in line for hours to get waited on, they open at 9 am. I can't print the name or the web site address of this business in this forum, but do a search for Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki ATV Dealers for State College PA and their name will show up. They are the only one thats in State College PA

Didn't you just tell everybody that ALL dealers in your area are out to rip you off. They cuss you out if you don't buy something from them? Why can't you say their name in this forum? I would think that any dealer would love to hear praise in a online forum.
But Right2Keep with these quads you've listed none of them are to much quad. Yes they all have plenty of power. Except the 400. But the power is controlled by your thumb. As far as problems? They are all quality machines. You should check out the boards of the brand that your interested in and see what everyone who OWNS one has to say. I don't so I won't commet on something I don't know about or have only READ as some on here like to do.

I would choose in this order
1 Grizzly
2 King Quad
3 Look for something else (jk) Honda is very reliable, and i had a fourtrax that was bullet proof, but i think they need something BIGGER just to stir it up a little, with a locker

After owning 2 out of the 3 you mentioned. Here is my order #1 brute force either 750 or 650 #2 king quad, although I don't like the low end bog that is built into the ecm. #3 grizzly it is a very good machine other than the vibrations at idle. Not all will agree with my choices. But not all have owned all.
