07' Wolverine or 00' Rancher?

Both are 350s, both are 2wd. Would be used for cutting up, and pulling a little landscape trailer around the yard doing a little gardening and stick removal...(after a t-storm, we get alot of them).
Which one is faster (for the cutting up)? Which one is built better? Oh, the Wolverine has the Automatic tranny...

Looks do not really concern me, honestly. I want which ever will out perform and outlast the other...

07' Wolverine or 00' Rancher?

I had a Rancher 350 2wd years ago, and it was one fun machine. I loved the big balooney tires that it had. I could land big jumps with them aired down, and it was like landing on pillows. It was surpisingly sporty for a ute, and pure fun to ride! Avoid the ES model is you can! Lots of problems with the electronic shifting mechanism....

I have never ridden the Wolverine. The folks camped next to me last weekend had one, and I asked them how they liked it. They were dirt bikers, and it was the kid's quad. They described it as being a "tank", but had to have an automatic trans because the kid couldn't learn to shift.

the "tank" is this case is the honda. 00'rancher claimed dry weight is 498lbs with 850lbs towing cap. 07'wolvy weight claimed is 478lbs with towing cap with opt. hitch is 1,100lbs and a warranty but get the one you like best is the best advice i can give.

is the wolvy 450 out of the question dry weight is 516lbs plus 4x4 and a 450 motor should out perform bot 350's

"Tank" has more to do with HANDLING than it has to do with just dead weight! Like I said, the 2wd Rancher is surprisingly sporty for a ute!

Notice that to be fair I did qualify my statement by saying that the neighbors were dirt bikers. Most dirt bikers think any quad is a tank!!!

The 350s, in 2WD are my only choices at this point. Out of those two, which one is fastest? Secondly, out of those two, which one is better built?

The belt drive on the Wolverine would make it a no go for me.

One thing about the Rancher is that they are dead solid reliable! Don't think the Wolverine has been around long enough to say about its long term reliability.

The wolverine 350 is virtually an old warrior with an auto tranny. They have been reliable in the past, plus its a yamaha
Honda makes a good machine, but from my experience in the past the yamaha will handle better and last longer (if taken care of right)

But recon is right compared to a dirtbike any quad is a "TANK", or bulldozer

But look a tank is hard to tear up as well compared to a 2 wheeler
