Default Girl Rider needs help deciding

I am looking at getting a 08 Raptor 350, Honda 300, or Suzuki Z400. I am 27, 5'2, and about 140 lbs. I am just ok at riding for now, never rode a clutch bike. Have rode a Honda 250 and a Polaris 250. I will be using it for dunes as well as trails. I think I want the Raptor but my boyfriend thinks I should get the Z400. Need some advice. He thinks I need to have liquid cooled and that is one of the main reasons for the 400. I don't really know too much about quads. I liked my friends honda 250 that was a semi-automatic. Not really sure I want a clutch????

eI would votet raptor myself, I dont know much about a z400 though. I like riding a clutch, if you are in the dunes a 350 or a 400 is a must or you could go up to a 400ex from a few years ago and that way if you dont like riding a clutched machine you can sell it and not lose so much money and buy what you want.

Liquid cooled is a huge plus for riding in warm weather, otherwise overheating becomes an issue.

have you looked at the raptor 250. it would make a good starter sport quad.i would like to have one but at 6ft 215lbs don't think it would haul me very well.you should be the right size for it.

z400 the honda 300 is a wimpy bike its the same motor as the honda 250 with a displaecment of 229cc and they call it a 300.....but the raptor 350 sucks to tell you the truth id get z400 like that other guy siad liquid cooled is a big plus and the z400 has the most power but its not uncontrollable like a raptor 700BUT ONCE YOUR USED TO CLUTCH ITS wayMORE FUN dont go with honda period they suck!!!

If you plan on riding for a while, you'll eventually want something with more power. The z would be a good starter, and the power can be increased later. The clutch isn't really that hard to get used to.

Good luck with your decision, and have fun with whatever you choose.

Thanks for all your help. I did indeed go with the Z400 but I am having a reclusive clutch put on it. I have problems with my hands cramping. One of the main reasons I was unsure if I wanted a clutch. I can't wait to go RIDE!!!!! Thanks again for all the advice.

You will love that 400, I got my wife one over a Raptor 350 because of the size difference. She loves it. Hell, even I like riding it. Tons of aftermarket stuff for it also. Have fun.

I was going to suggest the Z with a Recluse in it. You made a good choice now time for some fun.
